I enjoy thinking and discussing ideas, rolling them around in my head or with a friend; I enjoy taking delight in simple things like a sunset or a smile from a child; I enjoy using my hands to create things of beauty, whether they have a specific "function" or not; I find a walk in the woods to be rejuvenating; I love to pray and worship alone and with others; I like to play with my dog and with little children--engaging them to their delight delights me in return. My husband is my best friend and I wouldn't trade him for anyone; I'm looking forward to our 50th anniversary (in 20-some years!)--he says, "Triple or nothing."
I also have a progressive hearing loss and have worn hearing aids since 1992. My hearing deteriorated to the point that I got a cochlear implant in my left ear in March 2006 and in my left ear July 2008.
I frequently tell people to wait to tell me something, since "I can't listen and drive at the same time." So this tagline on a CI forum made me laugh out loud:
---- Friends Don't Let Friends Lip Read And Drive ---- .
